Philosophy

This multipurpose balm is a high quality intensive skincare solution for any situation. Simple and easy to apply, the balm works immediately to improve the condition of the skin, making it glowy and moisturized. The areas around eyes and mouth, as well as lips and neck are naturally the least protected due to a smaller amount of oil-producing glands that are normally involved in the formation of the lipid barrier. This leads to such skin conditions as dryness, uneven texture, dull tone, wrinkles, pigmentation and the loss of firmness.

The essence balm dramatically changes the approach to skincare routine allowing to constantly keep hand on moisture content and protection level of lips, face and neck areas with only one product.

Scent

The essence balm has a fine scent of natural Damask rose oil. Damask, or Taif, rose has always been regarded as a royal garden flower, and to grow it elsewhere had been strictly prohibited for a very long time. In the Middles Ages the rose oil was more valuable than pure gold. But even nowadays the flower is fairly rare, and its oil is still one of the most expensive perfume and cosmetic ingredients. Rose petals are harvested in peak bloom, during only 2 months, in May and June. This is done early in the morning, before sunrise, as the concentration of aroma compounds in petals is the highest at dawn. Harvested petals must be distilled before noon. Before distillation petals are weighed and mixed with purified water in specific proportions. The petals are placed in tightly closed copper containers and boiled slowly for 6 hours, the steam passing down through long tubes in coolers. The distillate drops are collected in a container, where oil spheres appear. This is rose extract. Renowned perfumeries claim that there is no fragrance better than that of Damask rose.

Protection

Protection from dehydration is one of the most important tasks of the balm. The balm prevents skin chapping and dryness as well as heals minor wounds and inflammation.

Candelilla wax (Euphorbia wax) protects the skin from moisture loss and chapping and prevents allergic reactions (contact dermatitis), possesses light antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. It intensively works on texture making the skin soft and smooth.

Matricaria chamomilla extract possesses antiseptic, antimicrobial, wound-healing and pain-relieving properties. It soothes irritated and sensitive skin, making it softer and more elastic, and has antihistamine properties. The extract is capable of fighting pigmentation and correcting uneven skin tone.

Ceramides are lipids that bind the cells and secure the structural integrity of the protective outermost layer of the skin. When the level of ceramides is normal, the barrier prevents moisture loss and protects the skin from environmental damage. Lack of ceramides leads to skin sensitization, irritation and dryness, and skin texture starts to feel rough to the touch. Ceramide-containing products are a must for sensitive, dry, mature and thinned skin.

Sodium hyaluronate and water-soluble collagen provide a long-lasting skin moisturizing effect. Collagen creates a protective veil on the skin surface, which protects the skin from transepidermal moisture loss throughout the day.

Prebiotics are substances fortifying the natural antibacterial shield of the skin. When the number of protective microorganisms residing on the skin surface decreases, they are outcompeted by irritation- and inflammation-inducing pathogens.

Alpha-glucan, a prebiotic included in the essence balm, helps control the skin microfloral balance, eliminates harmful bacteria, improves protective properties, prevents aging. The ingredient soothes the skin and makes it less sensitive.

Coix seed extract fortifies skin’s barrier function and keeps the skin hydrated. The extract has anti-inflammatory, wound-healing and antiseptic properties. Coix is a source of vitamins and minerals necessary for skin cells. In modern medicine the extract is used to cure dermatitis, including contact dermatitis.

Olea europaea oil forms a moisture-retention veil on the skin surface without clogging the pores. Speeds up the healing of minor injuries, makes the skin smooth and soft, normalizes sebum production.

Squalane is a lipid that forms part of skin’s natural barrier. Squalane is produced by sebaceous glands and remains close to skin surface supporting its barrier function. The amount of squalane our body produces declines with age, with peak production occurring at the age of 23. By the age of 50 the amount of squalane in sebum normally does not exceed 5%. Squalane is a highly compatible component, it immediately penetrates the skin, making it softer and charging with moisture. It is particularly suitable for dry, cracked and peeling skin. Also, squalane helps prevent pigmentation (including the age-related one) and skin damage caused by exposure to ultraviolet.

Glow

Acting both as an anti-inflammatory tonic and a relaxant, the balm eliminates the “tired skin” syndrome.

Saxifraga extract improves microcirculation in the skin and, consequently, its nutritional status and the level of oxygenation. The extract prevents pigment accumulation, one of the reasons that leads to the formation of pigmented spots and makes the skin change color.

Beeswax is a component used in traditional cosmetology. It helps reduce pores and wrinkles, mattifies the skin. Rich in bactericides, the component fights skin inflammation and boosts wound healing processes. Reduces pigmentation and lightens freckles.

Royal jelly extract is a moisturizing, wound healing and nutritive ingredient. Royal jelly is a biostimulant rich in amino acids, fructose, glucose and vitamins. Proteins of royal jelly restore subcutaneous tissue contributing to the elimination of fine lines.

Melissa extract relieves itchiness, tightens the pores, removes comedones and significantly improves complexion bringing back skin’s natural glow.

Rosemary extract unclogs pores, softens rough skin patches and normalizes the balance of moisture, restores elasticity and corrects uneven texture.

Firmness

The balm is a stick-type serum for comprehensive anti-aging skincare.

Rice bran wax smooths and moisturizes the skin, removes inflammation, brings back firmness, prevents the formation of wrinkles and boosts intracellular regeneration processes. It is a natural antioxidant containing ferulic acid, the only antioxidant, the activity of which is enhanced by ultraviolet irradiation, and gamma-oryzanol, an active ingredient that speeds up skin restoration processes and protects collagen fibres. The ingredient stimulates tissue regeneration, relieves irritation and leaves the skin silky smooth and matte. The wax is hypoallergenic, does not clog pores and is considered to be one of the best nutrients in classic cosmetology.

Jojoba oil contains a unique complex of amino and fatty acids necessary to support firm and youthful-looking skin. The oil improves skin texture making it silky smooth as well as supports elasticity. Jojoba oil is characterized by the ability to penetrate deep into the epidermis, which makes it a particularly valuable cosmetic ingredient. The oil relieves inflammation, soothes irritated skin, makes chapped lips soft and smooth.

Macadamia oil immediately smooths the skin, removes flakiness and irritation bringing back softness to the skin. It possesses good nutrition properties and at the same time spreads easily over the skin and is rapidly absorbed. Macadamia oil restores damaged skin and is characterized by antioxidant properties. The oil is recommended for aging, dry, sensitive and irritated skin.

How to Use

  • For comfortable application push the essence balm 2-3 mm up by twisting the tube. For hygiene reasons and in order not to break the stick, do not twist it too far above the tube level.
  • Hold the stick perpendicular to your skin or lips during application. Unlike with lipsticks, do not angle the essence balm.
  • To apply the essence balm, slightly dot it on your skin. Do not use blending or sweeping motion.
  • Apply the balm on lips and areas requiring additional protection and hydration (the area around the eyes, nasolabial and neck folds, clavicles) as a last step of your skincare routine. The product can be used both before and after makeup, any number of times during the day.
  • The balm is recommended as a nighttime lip care product if your lips are dry in the morning (when the air in the bedroom is dry, if you breath through your mouth while sleeping etc.).

Safety Precautions

Do not use with oedema, eczema and other skin problems. If any discomfort or irritation occur, stop using the product and consult your dermatologist. Make sure to prevent the product from getting into your eyes. If the product has gotten into your eyes, wash it away immediately with plenty of water. Do not store the product at very high or low temperatures, keep away from direct sunlight. Store in places inaccessible for children.
